Wine & Dine in Dahlonega

Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and only 1 hour from Atlanta sits Georgia wine country. Dahlonega, Georgia is full of things to do, places to stay, great restaurants, and events year-round. You’ll go for the wine and fall in love with the views.

Keep reading for all the details on my surprise weekend visit to wine country.

WHAT WE DID:

We started our wine country weekend with Sunday Brunch at Montaluce Winery & Restaurant.

Did I mention the views? Your first taste of Montaluce delivers a scenic drive from their courtyard entrance, through their vineyards, and up gorgeous hills to their tasting room. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful and relaxing with endless views of their vineyard and mountains as far as you can see.

My Favorite Wine: Apple Wine

Not surprisingly, it smells like apples. There is a touch of sweetness. It is on the light side, is well balanced and has good length in the finish. Pair it with poultry dishes, pork dishes, any dish containing onions and/or apples or full-bodied cheeses.

We ended our wine outing with a reservation at Montaluce Winery & Restaurant. They prepare everything fresh on-site with a culinary philosophy founded on farm-to-table principles that utilize the best & freshest locally-sourced ingredients.

WHERE WE STAYED:

You only come across a bed and breakfast like this once and a while. From the views to the amenities, The Limelight is your ideal stay when you're in Dahlonega.
